I so love these! It is surreal seeing them in person. Kirtland AFB had a open house in 2011 that had a flyover by a B-2 and B-1B. I was AWESOME.

I've only seen a Spirit once when it did a flyover for a smaller local air show. Pretty high up, he did two or three passes down the flight lone and headed off. Must have been some pretty easy stick time for somebody.

Yeah its only the 2nd time I saw one in person. The 1st time was in the '90s Kirtland AFB Used to have EPIC 4th of July airshows that had pretty much every airframe in the inventory.

Air shows in good economic times were the best. I first saw the F-117 at Wings Over Houston back in about 1991. They had it cordoned off, with armed guards and "authorization to kill" signs posted. But you could still stand 10 feet from it. It was amazing. I took lots of pictures, but that was pre-digital days. God knows where those prints are now.

Yeah they had the 117 @ Kirkland in 91 or 92 with the same setup with USAF Security posted near it with M-16s. As a kid it was like Christmas in December.
